Relisting a Vinted listing: when, how, and without duplicates
A listing that does not sell is not a dead listing. It is often simply buried. But relisting without a method creates another problem: two live listings for the same item.

When to relist (and when not to)
There is no magic rule, but a reasonable starting point: a listing live for seven to fourteen days, with few views or favourites, deserves another attempt. A seasonal item can also be relaunched at the right time, as the season starts.
Do not relist a sold item, and avoid reposting every two days. Without a new photo, title or price, the new listing will be as invisible as the old one, with an extra duplicate risk.
- Seven to fourteen days without a sale: a good moment to test.
- Many views but few favourites: price or photos need work.
- Few views: title, category or cover need work.
- Seasonal item: wait for the season instead of forcing it.
What actually restarts a listing
Relisting is not deleting and recreating the same thing. The first photo drives the click, then the title. A new clean, well-framed, bright cover often does more than a price cut.
Keep the same facts: material, measurements, flaws, size. Rewrite the form, not the product. Change the category if it was too broad, and make sure the measurements are in the description.
- A new cover, not a rushed crop of the old one.
- A title with product type, colour and size.
- A price checked against similar listings.
- Measurements and flaws still visible.
The method in five steps
Relisting must stay simple. If it takes twenty minutes per item, it will not get done.
- Choose the product, not the old listing: start from the record.
- Rewrite the title and description with the same information.
- Prepare a new cover or keep the best photo.
- Publish on the right account, with the product code in the title.
- Watch the old listing: it may still be live.
The duplicate trap
If the old listing stays live, it can sell at the same time as the new one. You end up with two buyers for one item. This is not a Vinted bug: it is the result of two listings for the same product.
After a relist, check which listings are still active. Remove the old one once the new one is published, or keep it deliberately while knowing the risk.
- A relist does not automatically remove the old listing.
- Two live listings can sell the same item twice.
- Check live listings before considering the relist done.
What Vintops does in the relist
Vintops finds products live for seven days or more, rewrites the text with the same facts, prepares a new cover and opens a new draft. The old listing stays live: the record flags it so you can remove it at the right time.
You keep control of the price and the publication. Relisting is a tool, not an automatic decision.
Checklist before publishing the relist
A final quick pass avoids most mistakes.
- The title contains the product code.
- The cover is sharp and shows the full garment.
- Measurements and flaws are still there.
- The price is consistent with the market.
- The old listing will be removed or watched.
